KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here has allowed the prosecution team in Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy trial a stay order on the decision that compelled them to supply documents and materials to the defence in relation to his charge.
The stay was granted by Justice Datuk Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah pending the prosecution's appeal against the order.
On June 16, the court granted Anwar's application to order the prosecution to supply him with the related materials.
Anwar is charged with sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, at a condominium here in June last year.
Anwar's application to strike out the charge against him, and the sodomy trial proper, has been fixed for mention on Sept 2 and both matters will proceed pending outcome of the appeal.
